SGI - Vice President – Workplace4Warriors: Captain Joseph Calderon
As the Vice President of SGI's Workplace4Warriors – W4W™ Program, Mr. Calderon is involved with the recruitment and training of returning military service personnel needing assistance with integration into the civilian workforce; specifically into the field of security. As a military veteran with a strong background in security applications and leadership, Mr. Calderon is an extremely valuable asset to this program.
Mr. Calderon is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and has served as a commercial airline captain, military aviator, aviation security consultant, federal law enforcement officer and martial arts/defensive tactics expert. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Black Belt Association, Coast-to-Coast Investors and Visterra Credit Union. Mr. Calderon is a Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves and served as Director of Officer Accessions Programs in Southern California. He is a decorated veteran with over 2000 flying hours in both C-141B (airlift/airdrop/special operations) and T-37B (UPT instructor) aircrafts.
Mr. Calderon is a distinguished graduate of Squadron Officers School and has earned 3 Meritorious Service Medals and 2 Commendation Service Medals. Mr. Calderon brings a unique blend of both tactical and strategic level leadership experience to Solutions Group International.
Mr. Calderon has over 25 years of experience as both a martial arts expert and defensive tactics consultant. He serves as United Airlines Pilots Association's Director of Airport Security and Project Team Leader of Aircrew Defensive Tactics. He was also instrumental in the development of the Transportation Security Administration's Aircrew Self Defense Prototype Course. Mr. Calderon is a member of our instructor cadre and is instrumental in the development of SGI's weaponless defense programs specific to close-quarter environments (planes, trains, confined spaces etc).
